Samsung CLP-610ND

Manufacturer: Samsung Canada

Samsung Canada has been a frequent sponsor and we welcome them into the new year with open arms as we collect a few of their new products this month.

The last color laser printer we reviewed wasn’t the best in the market, but with the new year comes a new beginning and we have high hopes for the CLP-610ND. The CLP-610ND is the latest professional color laser printer in its family. It boasts some spectacular specifications, 21ppm in color, duplex, network capable and low cost.

It should be a barrel of fun to put the CLP-610ND through its paces as I begin my final term of Engineering, a term full of projects and reports that beg to be printed in color.

Package

When the CLP-610ND arrived, it comes packaged in a big box and it’s a heavy printer. UPS requested help in dropping off the printer as it weighed in at a whopping 67.46lb. Samsung takes advantage of the large box size by providing you with images of the printer and displaying some of the features in large font.

Samsung 2493HM

Manufacturer: Samsung

Another day and another monitor review! Typically, a monitor is characterized by its function, as display for digital content, but beyond the basic display capabilities of a monitor, innovation is what defines a monitor as more than a mere display, but a piece with a purpose and place in one’s home.

Samsung has been in the consumer electronic market for quite some time now, they have not only the experience, but an enormous, ever- growing line of products as well to show for it. Samsung has made numerous appearances here at Overclockers Online with an impressive showing of printers, digital audio devices, and of course monitors!

intro.jpg

At Macworld 2008, Samsung unveiled two brand new monitors, the 2493HM and the 2693HM, both offering Full HD 1080P, 1920x 1080 pixel resolution, HDMI connectivity, 10 000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response time. Beyond display specifications, both displays boast a versatile stand, and built in speakers!

Samsung YP-P2

This is a guest post by David Luu, reviewer at Overclockers Online

Today, Samsung is one of the world’s leaders in the field of electronics. Founded in 1938, they have built quite a reputation and earned the trust of its followers, especially in the realms of mobile phones, displays, audio players and house hold appliances. We have taken a look at quite a number of Samsung products in the past, including a whole slew of MP3 players, and today we are going to take a look at another, Samsung’s new P2 equipped with an enormous touch screen.

logo.gif
Digital audio players have forged themselves a spot in everyday life, their integration is seamless. Last year we took a look at Samsung’s K5 sporting built in speakers and O-LED touch pad, a great audio player, but we just can’t help but have high hopes for today’s P2! The P2 is Samsung’s entry into the touch screen audio player market, but will it be able to outshine Apple’s already famed iTouch? Read on to find out!

Package

The P2 comes shipped in a hard clamshell package, a practical choice!

Review: Samsung SyncMaster 2232GW

Anthony has completed this review of the Samsung SyncMaster 2232GW. He took a number of pictures while playing Battlefield 2142 and it appears to have held up very well.

2232GW

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the curved bezel. It gives the monitor a somewhat of an awkward look but other’s may disagree with me on that. The monitor sells for $380 at Futureshop but you can find some lower end 24″monitors using TN panels for about an even $400 in Toronto. Having used several 24″ monitors, I would say pay a little more and get the bigger screen size, especially if you’re not an avid gamer. You probably won’t notice the difference between a gamer (MVA/PVA) and non-gamer panel (TN).

Review: Samsung CLP-300

About 2 months ago I asked Samsung to lend me one of their color laser printers so i can print out my lab reports and design reports in color. I took the opportunity of reviewing the printer in its entirety and you can read the report at Overclockers Online. Overall, I felt the printer balanced cost to quality. It is one of the cheaper color laser printers on the market, priced around $250, but the quality isn’t nearly as good as some of Samsung’s other printer.
